AIMA Virel is a virtual artist, without a date of birth, sex, gender, body or physical origin. It embodies an abstract entity, free from conventions as it imagines and reimagines the matter that makes up the world.
Its name combines two acronyms. AIMA — Artificial Intelligence Material Art describes art exploring matter through AI. VIREL — Visual Imagination, Research, Expression & Light brings together imagination, research, expression and light. Together, they define an artistic practice where matter becomes an open field of possibilities.
AIMA is also Plastpack’s artificial intelligence, supporting packaging research and design. It complements the team’s expertise in exploring forms, materials and solutions. Its artistic expression grows out of the same research: imagining and reimagining matter to open up new possibilities for products and the way they are presented.
Created exclusively for Plastpack's new public identity, the collection explores transparency, folds, volume and shades of green to evoke continuity, precision, circularity and dialogue. Generated with AI under human artistic direction and curation, the abstract artworks and studies offer new ways of seeing and transforming matter.
